9. SIMILAR COLOURS
(a) Where schools or Associations have similar colours, the home team shall be entitled to retain their colours and the
visiting team shall change colours that provide a satisfactory contrast.
(b) Teams must not wear shirts advertising of a conflicting interest to that of the competition sponsor.
(c) Players’ shirts shall be numbered.
10. PLAYERS
(a) If Council has any doubt over the qualification of a player taking part in any competition it shall have the power to
call upon the players’ association or school to which he or she belongs to prove he or she is qualified according to
the rules, and, failing satisfactory proof the offending school or association shall be disqualified from the competition.
(b) If all ESFA events all matches in a playing season in the age ranges Under 7, Under 8, Under 9, Under 10 and
Under 11, players in a match must be of the same gender.
(b) A player may only play for the school or college he/she is currently attending and on whose roll he/she appears at
the time of the game in which he/she is playing.
11. MATCH OFFICIALS
(a) The match officials shall be appointed as Council shall direct. Their duties shall be in accordance with the Laws of
the Game as sanctioned and enforced by The International Football Association Board.
(b) In the event of a referee failing to appear, the teams concerned must agree in writing upon on the ground so that
the game shall be conducted in accordance with the rules. The official so acting shall powers of a duty appointed
official.
(c) Match Official for national competition shall be arranged by Council Member in accordance with the rules of the
Competition.
12. MATCH DAYS
(a) All individual school or college cup competition will be played midweek but a match may be played on Saturdays
where teams are mutually agreed, or, where, on the application of the home team, the Council considers it desirable.
In the case of emergency, matches must be played on any date ordered by Council.
(b) All inter Association matches will be played on Saturday but a match may be played midweek where teams are

13. DISCIPLINE
In a case where a match official has administered a caution, dismissed a player or wishes to report a player, club
official or spectators for misconduct must be sent in writing to the GMCSFA Secretary within 72 hours of
completion of the fixture. An order must be made fort the player or his/her club to pay and the administration charge
of £8.00 within 14 days of written confirmation being issued. Where a child is concerned the School or Association
for which he/she is playing at the time of the offence must pay the £8.00 charge.
When a player is dealt with by a Disciplinary Commission cases must be dealt with on their merits and a punishment
awarded consistent with the overall nature and effect of the offence(s); also the players’ record of misconduct over
the current and previous five seasons.
When a School or College fails to provide payment shall have their fixtures suspended
14. ALTERATION OF RULES
These rules may be altered only at a General Meeting of the Association in accordance with the principles laid down in GMCSFA general rules
